I tend to favor field watches, but also like the pilot style. My budget is between $300-$800, with some flexibility. It's nice for the office, but I don't like bringing it on rougher outdoor trips. * () \- a casual but dressier watch that I use as my daily watch. Simple, but is huge and weighs a ton on my wrist.

* () \- got this as a gift when I used to dive regularly. I have two watches currently, both Citizen Eco-Drives: I'm not planning on diving with this watch, but definitely expect it to swap in a silicone strap and get it wet or submerged for brief periods. Looking for a recommendation for a solid daily-wear automatic watch that can withstand some more vigorous outdoor activity like hiking. * Lorier Falcon II - loving the retro look, but I've got too many watches with acrylic crystals already - would've preferred sapphire * Omega Aqua Terra 36mm quartz/automatic - satisfies all requirements, but the overall design hasn't really grown on me.yet * Smiths Everest Expedition - would've been a solid contender if it weren't for the dang "Everest Expedition" on the dial * Smiths PRS25 - not a big fan of Rolex homages * Grand Seiko SBGX061/261 - love me some GS quartz, but having owned a few GS in the past, I kind of want to consider other brands Sometimes I think it looks great.other times, not so much * Tudor BB36 - pretty much perfect, but really not too sure about the hands/indices. So far these are the watches I've considered: * No real preference on movement (just not solar quartz) * Modern offering (not interested in vintage) If those don’t have quite the right strap color, bear in mind it is fairly easy to swap them out!Įver since I sold my GS Snowflake, I've been looking for a replacement daily watch with the following requirements: Hello! The following watches should be a good start (all come with a cognac-y colored strap).
